Girl Scouts Engineering Off the Canvas: Blending Art and Nature
October 18, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:30 pm
Community partners Black & Veatch and The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art are joining forces with Girl Scouts of NE Kansas and NW Missouri to explore the many intersections of engineering/STEM and art.
Cadette (6th-8th grades) Girl Scouts will explore how Virtual Reality informs the planning process in many professions including engineering and the arts. Working alongside engineers from the Black & Veatch Women’s Network as well as museum teaching artists, girls will plan and create an original sculpture, tour the museum and design a site-specific art installation.
Girl Scouts will earn a specially designed patch for participation. $3/Girl Scout. Bring a sack lunch. Not a Girl Scout? Register today at https://www.gsksmo.org/en/about-girl-scouts/join.html.
