Expanding Your Horizons: Brought to you by Science City

Olsson Engineering is sponsoring Expanding Your Horizons, an event for girls in grades 6-8 that will take place on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm at Science City at Union Station. The event will feature hands-on workshops with local female STEM professionals. There will be 21 workshops this year, ranging from aviation to cells to robotics. The keynote speaker will be Emily Arnold, Assistant Professor at the School of Engineering at the University of Kansas.

The event schedule is as follows:

6:00 – 6:30pm        Registration/Check-in Opens
6:15 – 6:55pm        Planetarium Show (first come first serve) & Free Time in Science City
7:00 – 7:50pm        Workshop #1
7:50 – 8:00pm        Break 
8:00 – 8:50pm        Workshop #2
8:50 – 9:00pm       Break & Head to Extreme Screen
9:00 – 9:50pm        Keynote Speaker in the Extreme Screen Movie Theater
9:50 – 10:00pm     Turn in survey and head home!

Registration is required and limited to 400 participants. The cost of registration is $10.00. T-shirts may be purchased in addition for $15 each.
