KC shares a look at design careers with Project Lead The Way students

The Center for Architecture & Design teamed up with the KC STEM Alliance to share career opportunities in the design fields with more than 250 metro students enrolled in Project Lead The Way’s Civil Engineering & Architecture course.

Students started the day with a look at why design careers matter and an overview of opportunities—from architecture and urban planning to landscape architecture, graphic design, interior design and industrial design.

Afterward, numerous firms opened their doors to students in breakout sessions, providing a closer look at what a day in the life of a design professional looks like.

Thanks to the following firms for participating in the student visits:

DRAW Architecture + Urban Design LLC
Hollis + Miller
Helix
GastingerWalker
NSPJ Architects
KEM Studio

The day concluded with presentations from design professionals and an education/career fair.

On April 30, KC STEM Alliance’s Civil Engineering Day will offer students a closer look at career opportunities in that field.
