Social Studies of Star Wars | Overland Park, KS

$149We all know the effect of Star Wars on pop culture, but have you ever analyzed the saga from a social studies perspective, such as the effect on human history? This Johnson County Community College Summer Youth Course will review the mythology of Star Wars, the economic effect of the films, and the expansion into other mediums such as books and video games.
Participants will learn about the hero epic and other tropes that run throughout the saga and how those tropes resonate throughout other creative endeavors.
