SciFlix: Revenge of the Electric Car
April 8, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

SciFlix is a community outreach effort designed around taking the science, the theories and the ethics in popular fiction and discussing it openly and honestly. Each film begins at 6:30 p.m. in Regnier Hall Auditorium.
Following the film, a moderator will introduce a panel of experts who will provide their reactions to the film and their insights in a Q&A session with event attendees. The mission is to entertain the public with movies and refreshments and then fan the sparks of creative and critical thinking into life. Brought to you by the KU School of Professional Studies, undergraduate degree in Applied Science in Biotechnology.
April 8 Film: Revenge of the Electric Car
Five years after Who Killed the Electric Car? (2006) documented the crushing of thousands of modern electric cars, four iconic trailblazers – Elon Musk, Carlos Ghosn, Bob Lutz, and a local mechanic fight to bring them back from the dead. From the bankruptcy of GM to the razor thin survival of start-up Tesla Motors, the electric car returns with a vengeance.
Dr. Lane’s research focuses on travel behavior, policy, and planning issues in urban transportation. His current research project involves the study of policies, perceptions, attitudes, and travel behavior effects on electric vehicle usage, including a survey of urban residents across the US and an informational intervention project. Ten years after “The Revenge of the Electric Car” is the EV here to stay?
