Science Kits Giveaway | LAWRENCE, KS

The University of Kansas Natural History Museum will be distributing a limited number of free Science Kits (while supplies last) for their virtual Pop Up Science program – Fossil Shark Teeth on Saturday, June 19th, streaming on Facebook.

Each kit will contain all the materials needed for the fossil shark tooth activity, plus a copy of the activity PDF, which will also be available online. Households can get up to 2 kits total. The science kits will be distributed on Saturday, June 12th from 10 am – 2pm. The accompanying video premieres on Facebook on Saturday, June 19th at 10 am.

Drive-up option: Museum staff will direct you to pull your car up to a designated spot on Jayhawk Boulevard in front of the north entrance of the museum (closest to the KU Memorial Union). Then, they will provide a kit containing all materials.

Walk-up option: You can also walk into the museum to pick up a kit.  Staff asks that if you are not vaccinated against COVID-19, please wear a mask and keep a safe distance from others.

To request one of these kits be mailed to you, contact Colleen MacGilvray at macgilvrc@ku.edu by 5 pm on Wednesday, June 9.
