Science City’s Saturday STEM Seminar: Imagine the DNA Helix
October 7, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
FreeGeared for students in grades 7-12, this free series features STEM professionals sharing information about their careers and hot topics in science, technology, engineering and math, followed by a Q&A session.
On this date, Dr. Kimberly Meyer, KMU Analytics LLC, will discuss “Imagine the DNA Helix: That’s my career” in the Union Station Extreme Screen Theatre.
Dr. Meyer will introduce her rather varied education and experience then we will look at three different ways that a Ph.D. in math can be used in a professional setting: academically with the MATCH curriculum, looking at geo-spatial analysis with companies like H&R Block, as well as rummaging through the intriguing world of forensics accounting.
