SATURDAY STEM SEMINAR: Patrick Gillespie – From Firearms to DNA, Exploring Forensic Science

February 17 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

Free

During Science City’s Saturday STEM Seminars, local STEM professionals present hot topics in science, technology, engineering and math, as well as highlights of their education and career paths. A Q&A session follows. The seminars, geared toward students in grades 7-12, are open to the public. Registration is required, but walk-ups are welcome!

The goal of forensic science is to answer questions through analyzing evidence. The answers to those questions can aid in prosecuting a criminal or absolving the innocent. Through real casework, we will examine several disciplines of forensic science – their capabilities, limitations, and impact.
