SATURDAY STEM SEMINAR: Patrick Gillespie – From Firearms to DNA, Exploring Forensic Science

FreeDuring Science City’s Saturday STEM Seminars, local STEM professionals present hot topics in science, technology, engineering and math, as well as highlights of their education and career paths. A Q&A session follows. The seminars, geared toward students in grades 7-12, are open to the public. Registration is required, but walk-ups are welcome!
The goal of forensic science is to answer questions through analyzing evidence. The answers to those questions can aid in prosecuting a criminal or absolving the innocent. Through real casework, we will examine several disciplines of forensic science – their capabilities, limitations, and impact.
