FreeDuring Science City’s Saturday STEM Seminars, local STEM professionals present hot topics in science, technology, engineering and math as well as highlights of their education and career paths. A Q&A session follows. The seminars, geared toward students in grades 7-12, are open to the public. Registration is required, but walk-ups are welcome!
Every human has 6 billion DNA “letters” that make up their genome, which determines everything from body functioning to physical appearance, including health. Occasionally, one single change in the DNA letters can throw everything off, leading to disease. The challenge? Finding which one! Join us to hear all the steps needed to reach a diagnosis via DNA analysis as you learn how this detective work requires a big team of professionals with diverse training.
