Water is essential to life on Earth, and it makes up nearly two thirds of the planet’s surface. However, many children have to walk for hours from a village to a river to collect water. Instead of walking to a river, one solution is to build a system that transports water from a central source to multiple sources over a distance. Over two thousand years ago, the ancient Romans mastered the use of aqueducts to transport water to distant locations.

In this  Museum at Prairiefire activity, participants will be tasked with figuring out how to build a system of aqueducts to transport water from a central source (a large bucket) to multiple villages (small bowls).

For ages 6-10 years
