Great Gorilla Games 2018 | Pittsburg State

April 3, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Great Gorilla Games promote STEM-oriented curriculum, collaboration, teamwork and the practical application of STEM concepts to “real world” scenarios and problems.
The Technology and Engineering Education Program and the College of Technology at Pittsburg State University offers regional high school students the chance to compete in a variety of science, technology/engineering, and math-based challenges and competitions on campus.
The Great Gorilla Games includes advanced challenges and competitions for all STEM students, from individual, team-based and group competitions and challenges to static displays and exhibits. These advanced challenges focus on the integration of science, technology/engineering, and math concepts in exciting and fun projects and activities that bring meaning and relevance to STEM education.
Technology Showcase sessions at the Kansas Technology Center highlight each department and program for students to experience the many offerings available at the KTC when they are not involved in a competition or challenge. The Great Gorilla Games is a continuation of the past STEM competitions held in the Kansas Technology Center, but this year it was expanded to include teams from most of the schools within the Gorilla Advantage service area as well as teams from across the states of Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas.
