Gigabots Workshop
July 11, 2018 - July 12, 2018
Educators: Are you interested in collaborative learning, or curious about new technologies? Maybe you just like robots. Either way, Big Bang and the Mozilla Foundation hope you’ll join them for a free two-day workshop to learn about Gigabots, and how you can bring them to your classroom.
Gigabots are an open source education project (developed here in KC!) that promote collaborative learning, provide an opportunity to explore the emerging technologies called the Internet of Things (IoT), and introduce a new way to teach your students about coding. Whether you teach math, history or computer science, Gigabots provide a fun and engaging way to bring new technology into your classroom and connect to other classrooms in real time. In the two-day workshop, you will learn how to build a Gigabot using a LEGO Mindstorm EV3 robot and gain access to lesson plans and other resources. The workshop is intended for educators, formal and informal.
The workshop runs 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 11 and 12.
