21st Century Careers: Opportunity Occupations

Teachers and high school students are invited to a series of live virtual events to learn about a variety of career paths from those who have risen to the top of their fields. Students will have direct access to leaders of local industry and hear firsthand about their career journeys and the skills needed for success. There will be opportunities for students to build their leadership style and skills, as well as find out about good-paying jobs that don’t require a four-year degree.

Pre-registration is required and there is no cost to attend. With one teacher registration, students may participate as an in-person class or individually as remote learners. The technology platform used will be WebEx and it can be accessed via a temporary, one-time use or downloaded beforehand. Additional information to access each webinar will be provided in advance.

In this session, students will meet experts in law enforcement, cash services, facilities services and Information Technology within the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. These career pros will share a variety of career paths that pay above the annual median wage, don’t require a four-year degree and are poised for significant growth.
