EXPLORER POST FIRST NIGHTER: August 28
Black & Veatch invites students and their parents to the first meeting of the Black & Veatch Explorer Post 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 11401 Lamar Ave. Overland Park, KS 66211. (Use the south doors.) The Post is for students ages 14-19 who are interested in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and want to gain knowledge of the various disciplines of engineering.

MEMBERSHIP & APPLICATION FEE
Explorer Post  is a 10-month program that starts in late August and goes to the middle of May.
Students must complete an application which requires both student AND parent signatures, along with an application fee of $50, which covers transportation, insurance, snacks, materials for hands-on activities, etc.

WHAT THE MEETINGS ARE LIKE
Each monthly meeting will consist of an informative presentation by a guest speaker and a hands-on activity or contest related to the selected engineering discipline. Each month a tour of an engineering-related facility will be offered. Tours are normally on the Saturday following the meeting.
