Unmanned Aerial Systems, more commonly referred to as drones, have gone from specialized instruments to commonplace holiday gifts in the span of a few short years. This takeoff of technology impacts the economic and societal realms and touches on topics such as privacy, economic feasibility, safety and communication. Equally as important, but rarely mentioned, is the current and future impact of drones on the sciences.
