Powell Gardens

Powell Gardens offers a variety of themed program opportunities for school and family events. Elementary teachers may choose from five engaging guided tours at Powell Gardens where students learn essential concepts through hands-on and meaningful learning activities with many opportunities to perform scientific investigations. Science topics such as plant and animal life cycles, plant and animal adaptations, the movement of matter, and plant pollination are taught in our 100+ acres of natural and cultivated landscapes.

Powell Gardens also works with middle school teachers to organize science nights at Powell Gardens. These programs are designed to complement the classroom science instruction. Monthly family-friendly programs allow guests of all ages to learn about fermentation, butterfly life-cycles, plant structure and growth, and many other seasonal science topics. Art and science workshops are also available for families and provide professional guidance on many garden related topics.
