Front Porch Alliance offers 6 STEAM-based programs for school-age youth. Our emphasis on intergenerational mentorship fosters confidence, skill building, community support, and social emotional growth. Program goals include: 75% of youth will demonstrate effective communication skills via a presentation to peers/community; and 80% of youth having at least 1 additional supportive adult in their life.
PALs: elementary, in and after school: reading and math interventions, support, and supplementing Robotics: grades 4-6, solving real-world problems through creativity, teamwork, and coding Financial Literacy: grades 7-12, gaining skills needed to earn a job, spend money within a budget, and save & invest wisely. Shark Tank: grades 7-12, from idea generation to developing prototypes, students gain skills needed to start their own business & will pitch their ideas to local business owners PORCH Storytellers: personal and community storytelling through various art media Reel Collectors: community storytelling through film Our Stories: community storytelling through podcasting
