NCWIT Aspiration in Computing Awards 2014 – 2015

NCWIT Aspiration in Computing Awards 2014 – 2015

Do you know a young woman in high school with an interest in a technology career? Encourage her to apply for the NCWIT Aspirations Award! Applications will open September 15, 2014.

Last year the Missouri-Kansas region had two national winners, two national runners up, 16 local winners, and 14 runners up awarded out of 41 applications. National award winners will receive an awesome prize package including $500 cash, a laptop computer, and a trip to Bank America for Technology Showcase and Awards ceremony. Local winners will receive a trophy and prizes plus connections to local companies including Cerner and Perceptive software for internships.

This is a great opportunity for any young woman interested in technology as a possible career, and all that is needed is an application! That is it! The application process does require a parent confirmation and a teacher/sponsor. It takes less than 20 minutes for each person (student, parent and sponsor) to complete. Everything is online, and one application covers both the national and the local awards. Please encourage girls to apply and COMPLETE their applications.  Before September 15th, familiarize yourself with the program and benefits, post attached poster, spread word to students and continue to spread the word to other teachers in Kansas and Missouri.
