Join PowerUp: Cyber Games through 11/20

Students working on computers

Cyber Games team support available: Apply by Nov. 20

Educators and parents: Kansas City’s aSTEAM Village has grant funding available to support teams in a new cybersecurity team competition and it’s not too late to join the action!

PowerUp: Cyber Games inspires middle school and high school students to learn about the high-opportunity field of cybersecurity through a competition that teaches participants to solve computer security problems, and capture and/or defend computer systems. Students will compete monthly using an online platform from their school, home or library computers.

With an online curriculum to help them prepare, students will compete in a four-hour consecutive block once per month during the season, which runs through March with finals in April. An awards ceremony in May will recognize the top three teams and other accomplishments.

School-affiliated and independent teams as well as individuals can participate. The entry deadline is November 20.
