Science City’s Science Wise: Using the SEP’s in a Science Investigation for Exploring Diversity Equity and Inclusion
February 10, 2023 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
$25Explore diversity, equity, and inclusion practices through the lens of sense-making for elementary students utilizing a discovery-based investigation. Participants will engage in SEPs and immersive learning, while experiencing an investigation with pill bugs, using various affordable tools. Teachers struggle with access and affordability when designing discovery-based investigations. With minimal to no cost, this ready-to-use complete elementary life science investigation will demonstrate ways to increase equity in science sense-making practices through standards-based, hands-on investigations.
Presented by Dr. Ollie Bogdon, Associate Professor – Science & Technology Education, Missouri Western State University.
