Science City’s Science Wise: ETS for the STEM Teacher

February 23, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

Science City’s Science Wise professional development opportunities include innovative, instructional techniques for all STEM educators. Each course includes hands-on demos; science standards; resources and more.

This session for grade levels 6-12 digs into the Engineering, Technology and Application of Science (ETS)—a collection of performance expectations in the Next Generation Science Standards that can be useful for all teachers. In this workshop, teachers go through the engineering design process in several manners as a way to implement it more efficiently in their classrooms. Participants will design a toy as well as engage in black box modeling by breaking apart and redesigning a hair dryer or power tool. Presenter: Spencer Martin, KCK Curriculum Instructor.
