KU Natural History Museum’s Science on Tap: The Kansas Watershed

September 18, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Dawn Buehler of Friends of the Kaw will serve as guest speaker for September’s Science on Tap, speaking about The Kansas Watershed: Flow, Flooding, & Management. A watershed is much more than a drainage area in and around our communities. It provides drinking water for people and wildlife, diverse native landscapes, habitat, water for gardens, produces energy and is the basic foundation for life.

Within each watershed, water travels through streams—some protected and some not. Learn about the Kansas River watershed, the streams that form it, flood control, irrigation and how river management works during a flood season during this event at Free State Brewery.
