The KC STEM Alliance is pleased to announce the availability of a grant to support travel and other expenses for registered FIRST Robotics Competition teams who qualified at an official event to advance to the 2013 FIRST Championship from the following counties: Wyandotte, Johnson in Kansas, and Platte, Clay and Jackson in Missouri. Grant award amounts will be between $500 and $1,500. Teams who demonstrate financial need will be given special consideration. This cash grant will be paid to the team’s school district or 501(c)3 fiscal agent for FIRST Championship expenses.
Championship Advancement Grant funds are made possible through the generous contributions of area companies and organizations dedicated to increasing the number of students prepared to enter college and career STEM careers. Contributors include: Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, Black & Veatch, Burns & McDonnell, Honeywell, DST, Garmin, US Engineering, MRI Global, Sprint and Cerner.
Only teams in full compliance with KC STEM Alliance data collection surveys are eligible for funding. If your team did not turn in your surveys to Pit Administration at the Greater Kansas City Regional you may still do so.
2013 FIRST Championship Advancement Grant Guidelines
The KC STEM Alliance is pleased to announce the availability of funds to reimburse travel costs associated with team travel to the 2013 FIRST Championship event in St. Louis, Mo. between April 24-27, 2013. Eligibility is limited to teams and programs from the following counties: Wyandotte, Johnson in Kansas, and Platte, Clay and Jackson in Missouri. Only teams that qualified for the 2012-2013 KC STEM Alliance Season Grants (teams who demonstrate financial need) will be eligible. This cash grant of up to $500 will be paid to the team’s school district or fiscal agent for FIRST Championship expenses.
