Women constitute 48 percent of the U.S. workforce but hold just 24 percent of the U.S. jobs in STEM. Even worse, only 1 out of every 10 STEM professionals is a minority woman. Women make up only 10 percent of U.S. engineers. We must change this. Today’s girls are our future engineers – they naturally possess the creativity and analytical and communication skills that are the signature traits of an engineer.
