The National Inventors Hall of Fame brings its Camp Invention to multiple locations around the metropolitan region this summer. Children in grades K-6 are presented with hands-on challenges that encourage creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Camp invention is led by experienced local educators and new curriculum is introduced each year, inspired by the Inductees of the National Inventors Hall of Fame. This July 23-27 offering from Mesner Puppet Theatre explores how puppetry, or moving sculpture, is a magical place where art and technology meet. When creating a puppet, we test, analyze, redesign and prototype. Puppets, like machines, are designed with specific goals in mind. Students in grades 7-12 are invited to a puzzle-filled week of activities revolving around the engineering side of puppetry. Liberty Robotics Camp
The Liberty Robotics Foundation and Liberty Robotics Team 1764’s Robotics Summer Camp runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 18-22 at Liberty High School.
Using problem solving skills, creativity and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics skills students working in teams will construct, program and compete with a Vex robot. Supplies and programming software will be provided. This camp is open to all incoming 6th – 12th grade students. Cost is $200 per student and includes a T-shirt and pizza on the final day.
