JAM Session: Density of Liquid and Homemade Lava Lamps | OVERLAND PARK, KS
October 2, 2021 @ 10:15 am - 11:00 am
If you look around your house you will likely find a lot of different liquid substances – water, cooking oil, dish soap, the milk you put in your cereal, etc. You may also know that not all of those liquids look or even pour the same. Some liquids, like water, are “runny” while others, like vegetable oil and dish soap, tend to thicker. This has to do with density.
In this Museum at Prairiefire Jam Session, participants will learn about density and see what happens when you try to mix different household liquids together. To top off the activity, participants will use the concept of density to make their own lava lamp!
This class is geared towards ages 6-10 years old.
